The project was on one site with two distinct areas. The first area was the visitors centre with café, shop and tasting tours converted from a historic listed building. The distillery is a completely new building, constructed at the rear of the visitor centre adjoined by a link corridor. Due to the whisky production process, the majority distillery area is classified as Zone 2/22, with specific areas being zone 1 and zone zero.
As with many listed buildings, the installation changes during the construction phase due to the existing structure. We had to work closely with the engineers, Harley Haddow & builders, Colorado Construction to ensure all the systems were fully integrated to the clients’ requirements.
